ScoutJam 2010 will be held at the Travis County EXPO Center on the weekend of October 8-10, 2010. It promises to be one of the biggest, most fun, and memorable scouting events in the Capital Area Council history! Groups will be participating from all levels of scouting including: Cub Scouts Packs, Boy Scouts Troops, Venture Crews, Ships, and Explorer Posts. In addition, Girl Scouts and the public are invited to attend. You will be able to try your hand at camping, archery, electric guitar, space derbies, fishing climbing a rock wall, and much, much more! Packs, Troops, Ships, and Crews from the Council will be hosting games and activities at indoor and outdoor Midway booths. Check out the Scout Jam Trading Post with lots of unique ScoutJam merchandise from mugs to shirts and hats to the District Sub-Camp patches. There will be tons of special exhibits and activities with everything from Scuba diving to rocket launches (too many fun things to list here) plus a live arena show Saturday evening beginning at 7 pm featuring music, magic and free stuff. Presented in part by Epiphone Guitar the show will offer live music including the Paul Green School of Rock All Stars; Billy Riggs - Magician and Humorist, ScoutJam video highlights, special "ScoutCenter" reports by Scout correspondents, and a Scout Spirit Squad running in with giveaway items. This truly is the chance of a lifetime! The last time our Council held a local Jamboree/Camporee was in the 1960's. It may also be closest you ever get to experiencing a National Jamboree, except that this one will be run by local scout groups! For more information and details about events, see the Capital Area Council's ScoutJam 2010 web page at www.scoutjam2010.org. Troop 145 will be camping out at the EXPO Center throughout the weekend. On Saturday, we will be hosting the "King of the Stump" game in our Outdoor Midway Booth. Our Scouts will take turns manning it from 8:30 am - 4 pm, so no one should have to work at our booth over an hour, leaving plenty of time to visit other booths and participate in other ScoutJam activities. Sign up at a troop meeting for a shift supervising the game we will be hosting. | Troop 145 Scouts, leaders, and family members: Online troop registration is now closed.
